Debra Tyler

Debra Tyler's interest in art was encouraged by her mother and her grandmother. She was in a very informal art club in high school, sponsored by the guidance counselor and decided to major in art at McNeese State University. Tyler changed her major after two semesters. Art took a back burner for the next 30 years until interest was rekindled by watching painting programs every morning on PBS, including good old, you-can-do-it, Bob Ross.

Tyler began attending Vera’s Oil Painting Class in DeRidder in 2012. In 2014, she received instruction at RealArt Deridder from Jo Fowler, of Newton, Texas. She is still learning and loving it! Tyler believes that because we are created in God’s image, we have the ability and the desire to create. Enter the world of art and learn to SEE!
